Getting around

Bus

The buses in Peru have different classes and the luxury busses are really nice, comfortable and still affordable. You can even get some sleep on the nightliners. Travelling at night is not recommended in some areas of Peru. The roads are curvey and not so good in the middle of the country and if you can afford taking the flight for example between Lima and Cuzco is recommendable. The most recommended bus companies are: Cruz del Sur, Ormeņo and Movil. They all offer snacks on board and show movies.

Train

The only train connections are from Cuzco to Puno and Cuzco to Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes). To Machu Picchu it's the only option (other than doing Inca trail). To Puno it's a nice journey but little slower than the buses on the same route.

Domestic flights in Peru

Taca, Lan Peru, Tans, Star Peru and TAM are among the airlines that have flights to all major destinations within the country. Try to get an early flight as flights for example to Cuzco are many times cancelled due to weather. Weather is usually better in the morning. Cheapest flights from Taca
